History
The School of History was established in 1956 on the basis of the Department of History. In 2004, the Department of History and Department of Archaeology was changed their names and combined as the School of History.
With over 60 academic staffs including 26 professors, 15 associated professors, 15 doctoral supervisors, the School of History currently offer 4 undergraduate programmes with the following specializations: History, Archeology, World History and Experimental Class of Humanities (studies of Chinese ancient civilization); 4 master's degree programmes including Chinese History, Archaeology and World History; and 3 doctor’s degree programmes including Chinese History, Archaeology, World History and history of science and technology. Now it has one national key discipline and three provincial key disciplines.
The mission here is to foster top specialized talents with professional knowledge. By making a good use rich history and culture resources in Henan, the School of History has got great achievements in archaeological excavation and exploration of ancient civilization. Meanwhile, the school has established a great number of study centers from which you can benefit its rich teaching resources and sound academic environment.
