2024 March Intake of Doctor Program with Full Scholarship2023-01-01

Zhengzhou University is a key university in China. It has developed increasingly fast from a local institution into the national renowned university within decades. The President Scholarship of Zhengzhou University has sponsored 50 fresh candidates in 2017, 120 fresh candidates in 2018 and 170 fresh candidates to pursue doctor degree in Zhengzhou University. It plans to sponsor more than 200 candidates in 2020. We warmly welcome excellent applicants from all over world to pursue doctor degree in Zhengzhou University with full scholarship.

Coverage & Duration

The President Scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, and living allowance. The monthly living allownce is 3500 Yuan RMB, and the monthly accommodation is 1000 Yuan RMB. The scholarship is renewable upon the annual review result. The duration of scholarship varies from 3 to 4 years according to the duration of the full-time doctor program.

There are 127 doctor programs in 24 Schools of Zhengzhou University sponsored by the scholarship. All programs can be instructed both in Chinese and English (applicants should disccuss with potential supervisor about the instruction language).

Eligibility

Non-Chinese citizen, healthy, without any crime records, aged less than 40 years old; with excellent academic record of master, and potentially to be a highly specialized researcher, engineer or professional; rich in publication.

For program taught in Chinese, applicants should be HSK level 5 (scored over 210). Applicants with HSK Level 4 can apply for the preparatory program. For EMI programs, applicants should be at least IELTS  6.5, TOEFL 90.

Application

Applicant can apply all year round, while the intake only in March and September each year.

Application documents include:

1. Full CV and working experience certificates.
2. The degree certificates and transcripts of all tertiary studies; the certificate of current study and examination results for current student.
3. The statement of research interest and research proposal. In general, a statement of research interest should include reasons for undertaking this study at ZZU and future career prospect, while a research proposal should include the background, the objectives and the methodology or approach you propose to take in studying the subject matter. The minimum word limit for the proposal is 2000. Proper referencing is needed in the preparation of research proposals. Applicants are strongly suggested to contact their potential supervisor to discuss the research proposal before submission. The result of the plagiarism check will be taken into consideration when the Department, Faculty and Graduate School review the application. The application may be deemed unsuccessful if plagiarized materials are identified.
4. Two academic referee letters. You should invite two academics who are familiar with your academic achievements to write recommendation letters.
5. Official score report of HSK, TOEFL, IELTS or other language proficiency tests.
6. Physical Examination Record and No Criminal Record Certificate. They are valid only in 6 months. Please update them before the deadline of application and make sure they are still valid when you apply for visa.
7. The list of publications and the soft copy of master thesis and best publications.
8. Other documents, documentary evidence of academic awards and professional qualifications, and summary of relevant experience.


Applicants should submit their application online (https://zzu.17gz.org/member/login.do ) and then post the paper based supporting documents to us (Due to the COVID-19, the campus is closed now, online submission is all right. We may request hardcopy later on). The deadline is December 15 for March intake, and June 15 for September intake.

The application will be assessed by Scholarship Committee, the selection procedure consists of the following stages: Supervisor assessment, Selection within the school, Accepted by university, and Approved by government.and the result will be announced online.

Applicants can choose to apply for intakes of March or September.
