Pro. Nick Lemoinewill Work as Dean of Medical Sciences School in ZZU2015-04-04
On Apr. 3, 2015, the appointment of Nick Lemoine and the related seminar were held in the comprehensive administration center in new campus, Zhengzhou University(ZZU). There are about 200 attendees in all, including the Deputy Director-General of Science and Technology Department in HenanMa Shimin, Deputy Director of Health and Family Planning Commission in Henan Huang Wei, ZZU President Liu Jiongtian, Vice President Xing Ying, Chang Junbiao, Zhang Qianhong, GuZhengqing, and representatives of teachers and students.
In the conferment, President Liu issued the appointment certificate to Pro.Nick, and wore ZZU school badge for him.
President Liu on behalf of ZZU welcomed Nick on the assumption firstly. He said, Medical Sciences Schoolwas established on the fact that ZZU planned to construct the national first-level disciplines, improve the innovation ability and level of medical discipline in science and technology, and further internationalize this discipline.This schoolwas designed to develop disciplines and scientific research, and raise high-level talents, simultaneously endowed with partly management and coordination. Itsmain task is to concentrate its preponderant discipline, organize high-level teams, and construct the high planet and experiment bases for medical science. With the passion towards ZZUPro.Nick who has hadinternational top scientific researchability and rich management experience will endeavor as the head to make Medical Science School reach the first ranking in the world by constructing the modern medical scientific innovation system, improving the medical scientific coordination abilities and raising top talents. So ZZU will provide policies, fund, and resources as enough as possible and support s from other related medical schools, functional departments, and subsidiary hospitals.
Then Pro. Nick made a report and expressed that he would lead the Medical Science School to select talents and make it the first ranking scientific base in the world.
Pro. Nick is the great expert in molecular oncology cancer, gene therapy and translational medicine. He is the fellow of British Academy, the chief editor of Gene Therapy, and the director of clinic center in Britain National Institute for Health, Barts Cancer Institute in Queen Mary University of London, the Britain department of health, and cancer research academy. He with rich translational medicine research experience managed more than 40 clinical research teams todo more than 120 clinical test programs. He held the first clinical test for curing mammary cancer by gene-directed enzyme prodrug therapy in the world and led his team to construct the first pancreatic enzyme expression database in the world, who has contributeda lot to the study of pancreatic diseases and their clinic application. His team has discovered and evaluated the new target diagnosis in early pancreatic cancer, and developed the effective preparations and methods for cancer. This team has published around 300 papers in international top professional journals and acquired more than 20 international academic prizes.
